Before Amen, The Power of a Simple Prayer by Max Lucado
Does the thought of praying ever seem overwhelming? Do you struggle with how to pray? When to pray? Do you desire to pray more? Better? Stronger? With more fire, faith and fervency? This study invites us into the heart of biblical prayer, offering hope for doubts and confidence even for prayer wimps. Meeting on Thursday mornings from 10:00-11:30am, this 6 week study will be led by Judi Marshall beginning September 6.
Group meets Sunday afternoons in the church library. Learn to make handmade greeting cards for personal and church ministry uses.
Covenant Book Club
A once a month gathering for conversation and reflection on a pre-selected book of the group’s choosing. Each book will have themes relevant to our Christian faith formation and challenge participants in their witness of Christ in the world. Time and day to be determined by group participants.
Financial Peace University
If finances or future finances are a concern for you, this class is for you! Financial Peace University is a nine lesson, money management class taught via video by financial guru, Dave Ramsey. Paired with a live facilitator, Dave and the facilitator will walk you through the basics of budgeting, dumping debt, planning for the future, and much more.
Classes typically meet for 90 minutes once a week for 9 weeks. Specific nights are being decided, so let the office know your preferences and availability.
Strengthening and Sustaining a Health Marriage
Interested in gathering with other couples to grow stronger in your relationship with your spouse? Looking for ways to strengthen and sustain love that will last a lifetime? Wanting to know more about what a healthy relationship rooted in Christ can look like in your life? This is the group for you. Facilitated by Patrick and Kerri Moye, the group will gather for an initial meet and greet and determine the best meeting times for this new group.
Pastor’s Bible Study :: Colossians & Philemon: Continue to Live In Him
A Bible Study for all adults. Meeting on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm beginning September 19, Pastor Darren Alexander will walk through this study as we go deeper into God’s Word, exploring Colossians & Philemon. This study will guide us into a deeper study of God’s Word, as we learn to read the Scriptures with ever increasing discernment, delight and conviction. Each participant will need a study guide. Please pre-register in order that adequate study guides might be ordered.
All Pro Dads
Panera Bread (across from the Palladium) is home to this small group of dads, exploring what it means to be Christian fathers and husbands. All men are invited to join in as we begin the day with friendship, prayer, conversation, laughter and study. Meets are Fridays at 6:30 AM
Men’s Prayer Group
Join us as we begin our day with prayer, fellowship and the study of God’s Word! We gather Tuesdays each week at 6;30 AM in “The Living Room”, Covenant’s Prayer Room, located between rooms 6 and 8.
Men’s Bible Study Group
A small group of retired men gather each Monday morning at 8:30 AM for prayer, Bible study, a light breakfast and fellowship. Come share a cup of coffee or a bagel and the Bible. Get to know some great men and see how this fellowship will enrich your life.
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)
Covenant is excited to be a part of the National MOPS organization and become a recognized small group in High Point! Designed for moms with children birth-kindergarten, this group is about education, fellowship, and shared motherhood. All MOPS, regardless of church affiliation, are invited to participate in this evening small group. Meets are the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at 6:00 PM.
OWLS (Older Wiser Loving Seniors)
A monthly fellowship group for Senior adults, OWLS gathers on the 3rd Tuesday of each month for a catered lunch, and an educational program. All are welcome to attend!
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Meeting bi-weekly on Sundays at 5 PM, this ministry is for people who are interested in crochet and knitting. The prayer shawls are offered to those experiencing difficulties in their life, a symbol
of the warmth and love of God that surrounds them. No experience is required and supplies are available to get you started on your first project.
United Methodist Men and United Methodist Women
The mission of UMM is to help men grow in Christ, so others may know Christ. UMM meets the 2nd Sunday of each month at 7:30am for at church for full breakfast, great fellowship and a program. UMM also plan and participate in a variety of different missional ministries.
The purpose of UMW is to focus on missions especially to and for women, children and youth. We have two UMW circles (small groups), Genesis Circle and Hope Circle, at Covenant Church. Each circle meets once a month in the evenings. You are invited to find the one that is right for you!
Women’s Bible Study :: The Jesus I Never Knew
Women of all ages and stages of life are invited to be a part of a women’s Bible study that will take place on Wednesday mornings, 9:15-noon beginning September 5 in room 10. This 6 week study by Phillip Yancey will help us to break through the common stereotypes held about Jesus in order that we might know the real Jesus, while gaining a new and different perspective on the life of Christ, his work and saving ministry.
Young Adult Small Group
A small group for singles and newly married couples. The group will meet Thursday evenings at 7:00PM in participants’ homes.
