A Cantata for Advent and Christmas. Saturday, December 14th at 7:00pm in the Sanctuary. Presented by the Chancel Choir and Orchestra. With carols of faith burning in our souls, we sing the ancient star songs, we share the everlasting story, and with blazing joy we declare to the darkness once again, “Let there be Light!”
Presented by the Childrens' Choirs and the Silver Tones. Sunday, December 15th at 4:00pm. Prepare to be taken on a musical journey through Christmas music of long ago to the beginnings of today’s familiar carols. It is sure to be a wonderful ride! Don’t miss it!
My wife, Vicki, and I spent last week in New York city with our son. Many years ago while preparing for a family vacation to Disney World we learned to “go left,” that is, away from most people’s inclination to go to the right upon entering the park’s gate. That adage proved true in NYC as well. While most of the tourists were in Midtown watching the Macy’s parade, we went to Lower Manhattan and toured the Statue of Liberty, the financial district, and the 9/11 Memorial. Shorter lines and smaller crowds lent themselves to an awesome experience!
In case you’re wondering, Christmas is all about God doing and going where one would not expect, not just to be different, but because different is what we humans needed. Maybe you need something different to happen in your life. The good news is that God is about to do something entirely unexpected, so have hope!
Join us on Christmas Eve for one of four services of worship, each including the celebration of Communion and the lighting of candles:
